My life changed in September 2006. I had served as a Pastor for 30 years and now, as a result of MS, my ability to be employed came to a sudden halt. I experienced all the emotions of anger, disappointment and a host of questions as to why God would allow this to happen.
Psalm 27 helped me see my way through all my emotions. As is common within many of the Psalms, words of praise to God are expressed with times of great trial. "The Lord is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?" (NLT).
I began considering and meditating on the wonder God. I became encouraged and God began to show me how I could continue to live out His call upon my life. Early in my adult life I surrendered myself to God's call upon me to preach the Word of God and shepherd the people of God.
In time it has become clearer to me that I could begin to publish the studies that I had prepared over the years in such a way that they would be suitable for personal use or within a Bible Study. I want to do this for no profit to me.
My first project was the book of 1 Peter. This website will contain many of the study notes and helps for those studying this book as well as future studies. For those that register for a study, you will receive a PDF downloads of the Small Group Workbooks.
Psalm 27 is a ministry network because of numerous websites and resources that are linked. Included is a Blog of humorous stories of my everyday life, stories that seeks to bring thought, encouragement and a devotional aspect for those in career ministry. We have launched a Facebook Bible Study group in which I send out small devotionals and now we're on Twitter. On Twitter I give a 140 character devotional.
If anything in these pages are of encouragement to you, please let me know so that I may be encouraged in return.
God Bless.
